Causes that we stand for

Lacan acts directly and indirectly in some important social and environmental causes.

We believe that we should contribute as a group and as individuals to have a fairer, better educated society, and a healthier and cleaner environment.

Our commitment

Our culture is based on encouraging and promoting among all members of our team that the path for a civilized society with humanitarian values should be paved by our daily examples and attitudes.

As such, we are currently enrolled in the following projects;

Instituto de Reciclagem do Adolescente - Reciclar

Lacan's founding partner, Luiz Augusto de Oliveira Candiota, was one of the founders and today is the volunteer President of the Instituto de Reciclagem do Adolescente. Other employees are also enrolled with actions that contribute to the institute, always voluntarily.

Reciclar was founded in 1995 and it is an NGO which assists young students from public high schools from the Jaguaré community in the city of São Paulo. The institute has one of the most advanced programs in this area, with a high level team, has earned many prizes and is acknowledged as a model entity of the third sector.

Forest Sustainability

Lacan Investimentos acts massively in the forest sector, promoting a vast reforestation project in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul - Brazil.

In full compliance with the Brazilian Forestry Code and located in an area that was almost exclusively pasture, Lacan has been developing a large scale eucalyptus forestry project which helps in the recovery of the soil, carbon sequestration and the maintenance and preservation of natural reserves.

The project contemplates more than 50,000 hectares of planted forests, contributing to the sustainability of the environment, the maintenance and development of local communities and the generation of jobs and wealth to the region, in accordance to the guidelines established by the FSC - Forest Stewardship Council.
